Welcome to Meg's Hockey Page!
As I stated on my home page, I grew up in Buffalo, NY. As a child, I can remember going to bed, and turning the contrast and brightness way down on my black and white tv, and using the ear-plug it conveniently came with to lay on my stomach with my head near the tv, and watch Hockey Night in Canada. I loved the Flying Frenchman (Yvan Cournoyer)! He was small, fast, and extremely skilled!
Then, Buffalo got their own team, and I was immediately in love! The Sabres started in the 1970-71 season, and have been my favorite team ever since. As I was a young girl, I was in love with (in order) Gil Perrault, Rick Martin, Rick Dudley, and Danny Gare. After that, I learned that I did not need to be in love with a guy to have him be my favorite player <grin>.
I have now grown up (or old?), and live in NJ, just outside of Philadelphia. And yes, the hated (when I was young) Flyers are my second favorite team! I even root for the Eagles when they are not playing the Bills! My favorite players then became Rick Tocchet and Alexander Mogilney, Dave Poulin and Dominik Hasek, John LeClair and Michael Pecca. Now, they are all gone from the teams I love, and I have to figure out new favorites! I am going with Simon Gagne from the Flyers. I don't know on the Sabres just yet.
There are some links to the right to Sabres and Flyers pages. Eventually, I will re-post some of my favorite pictures from both teams (that I have taken myself, or found on the internet. Links to the pics (or pages of them) will be on the left eventually. Enjoy looking around! And, in the ever-famous words of Gene Hart - "Good Night, and Good Hockey!"
